Joseph M.

Joseph is the last born in a family of five children. Both of his parents are alive, but they were unable to provide financial assistance for Joseph’s education due to lack of education themselves and lack of sustained employment. In order to attend high school, Joseph rented a room at a home nearly three miles from the secondary school he attended and walked back and forth each day. With the support of EKARI Foundation, Joseph was able to board on campus and focus on his studies.

With EKARI Foundation’s continued support, Joseph graduated high school at the top of his class and went on to earn his Primary School Teaching Certificate in 2016. With support from our Apprenticeship Program, he is currently employed teaching at a private school!
