Building Program

The Need

Classrooms and dormitories at many of the schools that our students attend are in need of major additions and renovations. In addition, EKARI is in need of several structures to properly accommodate our students and operate our programs.

Our Program

Through our Building Program, it is our goal to provide the best possible physical learning environment for Phalombe youth.

COMPLETE! Phase 1 (2014): Construct a 2,500 square foot community building to house our office, classrooms, and rental offices.

COMPLETE! Phase 2 (2015-2016): Purchase a home that will accommodate students during their school holidays and transition year.

CURRENT! Phase 3 (2016-2017): Build a second home to provide youth beneficiaries with adequate room for study and accommodation.

Phase 4 (2018 – future): Renovate/construct classrooms, dormitories, science labs, libraries, and more at local schools.

Our Impact

Through our Building Program we opened our new community building in early 2015 and have expanded our services by offering our programs to the entire community!

Program Funding Amount

Annual: Varies from $10,000 to $75,000

$25 typically builds one square foot.
